Program-record win streak extends to eight, Keelhaulers sweep season series vs. PUC

ANGWIN, Calif. – Cal Maritime played the role of spoiler Thursday night inside Covered Wagon as it defeated Pacific Union, 74-64, during its Senior Night to extend a program-long win streak to eight games and sweep the four-game season series against the Pioneers.

Cal Maritime will host its own Senior Day Saturday afternoon, prior to its 2 p.m. season finale vs. Simpson at PEAC Main Gym. Fans are encouraged to secure their seat by 1:30 p.m. to help the program honor its senior class.

Pacific Union scored the first point of the night, responded to the Keelhaulers' first basket by scoring one of their own; those were the only PUC highlights of the night, and those two moments took place within the first 90 seconds of the game because Cal Maritime broke a 5-5 tie by scoring 12 unanswered points and never looked back.

Jessica Huffhines hit 4 of 7 shots from three and a career-high 5 of 7 attempts at the line to finish with 17 points, one shy of matching her career high. Alanis Sulivan connected on 5 of 6 field goal attempts and scored another 10l; reigning Cal Pac Offensive Player of the Week Aysia Santos led all players with 21 points to post her fifth 20-plus-point game of the season.

Sullivan collected a career-high seven assists and now ranks sixth all-time for the s=most assists in a season with 85.

As a team, Cal Maritime forces 20 turnovers, scored 19 points off those opportunities and only committed 11 miscues of its own — a season-low total.
