VALLEJO, Calif. – Led by Emily Newton's 11 points, three Cal Maritime players finished in double figures during Tuesday's non-conference game against Ottawa (AZ) at PEAC Main Gym.
Even though Cal Maritime finished strong by outscoring the Spirit, 23-14 in the second half, OUAZ' strong start enabled them to take a 10-point lead after the first quarter and slowly pull away throughout the next two periods to record a 72-57 victory.
In addition to Newton, Aysia Santos and Jessice Huffhines each added 10 points for the Keelhaulers; Tamana Sharifi collected a team-high nine rebounds.
