Men finish third; Frisell, Sharma and Rathsack represent Cal Maritime women at Jessup Invite
ROCKLIN, Calif. – Safari Frisell, Anjali Sharma and Mia Rathsack represented Cal Maritime's women's cross country team in Saturday's season opener in Rocklin at the Jessup Invite, finishing 18th-20th, respectively, among all individuals that covered Jessup University's 5k WJU Cross Country Course.
Michael Lapinski led all runners from the men's team by finishing 14th, with a time of 29:29.5 to help the Keelhaulers finish third.
Southern Oregon won both Jessup Invitational team titles and recorded first-place points for both men's and women's collegiate competition.
Colby Allen and Kye McKeown completed the men's 8k race in 17th and 18th place, clocking times of 30:44.2 and 31:47.2.
The Keelhaulers' final pair of runners, Caleb Silbernagel and Jacob Gutierrez covered the course in 39:09.2 and 47:15.0 to capture 21st and 22nd place.
Off next weekend, both cross country teams will return to action on Friday, October 6 at the SF State Invitational, hosted by San Francisco State in The City at Golden Gate Park Speedway Meadow.
