Three-point barrage leads to an 85-68 victory

VALLEJO, Calif. – Tied at 44 with 16:52 remaining in Saturday night's Cal Pac Conference game at PEAC Main Gym, Cal Maritime's 8-2 run gave it the lead for good. However, by hitting four shots from three in as many attempts, punctuated by a pair of dunks in as many possessions by Lawrence Long following that mini-run, the Keelhaulers quickly pulled away to secure an 85-68 win over Westcliff to split the season series.

Those dunks were part of a 24-point game for Long, who set a new career high in the process. Justiz Wilson also set a new career high by finishing with 28 points, canning seven of his eight shots from three. Jordan Morency added another 14 to finish in double figures for the second time in as many games.

Cal Maritime shot .585 overall and .462 from three against the Warriors thanks to a second half that included 8 of 17 field goals from three. In the final 20 minutes alone, the Keelhaulers shot 63 percent overall and .615 from three-point territory.

Men's hoops is now off until next week when it heads to UC Santa Cruz for next Saturday's series finale.
