REDDING, Calif. – Nick Stone finished with 21 points and eight rebounds, both team highs, Ivan Soto scored 19 points on 7 of 11 shooting and Luka Popovich posted 16 and 6 in Wednesday night's game at the James M. Grant Center, one that saw Simpson hold onto its five-point halftime led to collect an 85-73 victory in Redding.
Men's basketball's road opener marked the third time in the last four games that Stone posted 20 or more points. Soto matched a career high originally set at Bethesda when he finished with 19 points; by canning 7 of 10 shots, Popovich finished two points shy of matching his career high.
The Keelhaulers week will continue at home on Saturday when Stanton visits PEAC Main Gym, that game will tip-off at 4 p.m.
