VALLEJO, Calif. — Cal Maritime's current three-game homestand will conclude this weekend when Pacific Union and Cal Miramar visit PEAC Main Gym for a pair of games played with a 19-plus hour timespan.

The weekend will kick-off when men's hoops hosts its Cal Pac rival in Saturday night's league opener and the second matchup between the Pioneers and Keelhaulers this year.

Prior to the holiday break, these teams faced one another in a designated non-conference matchup won by Cal Maritime on its home court, 79-73. That result was the Keelhaulers' sixth straight versus PUC at home and extended their overall head-to-head win streak to 10 (every post-COVID matchup played).

Entering league play, senior forward senior forward Lawrence Long leads all Cal Pac players in rebounding, averaging eight per game, and ranks fifth shooting .505 from the field.

Reigning Freshman of the Year Nick Stone, a three-time Cal Pac Player of the Week this season, is the conference's third-highest scorer, averaging 17.5 points per game, with teammate Luka Popovich shooting .597 overall, the second-highest shooting clip in the Cal Pac.

Unlike the Keelhaulers, a team playing their inaugural conference game of the season this weekend, the Pioneers already faced two league opponents and split those games. After dropping its league opener at Westcliff last Thursday, PUC captured its first win of the season two days later at Stanton.

That result snapped the Pioneers' 14-game slide, dating back to their season opener.

Cal Maritime's weekend will conclude Sunday afternoon when Cal Miramar visits PEAC Main Gym in the first head-to-head meeting in the program's recorded history.

Following this weekend's slate, men's hoops will head to Simpson before playing another two games at home versus Stanton and Lincoln (CA), two games played within a three-day timespan.
