VALLEJO, Calif. –
The long wait is over for Cal Maritime men's basketball fans since the 2025-26 season will start Saturday night in San Dimas. Tipoff at Life Pacific will take place at 7 p.m.

This is the first head-to-head matchup in the Keelhaulers' recorded history and the start of a road-heavy non-conference slate that takes place throughout the remaining months of 2025.

Saturday's game in Southern California is the first of nine games taking place on the road out of men's basketball's first 10 events. The anomaly is the lone home game until mid-December when Lincoln (CA) visits PEAC Main Gym of October 30.

When that contest concludes, men's basketball will not host a game until December 17 when Pacific Union visits campus for a designated non-conference matchup — the first of two taking within a 19-hour timespan. Visiting Vallejo the day after the Pioneers is a team that competes at the Division-III level, Whittier College.

Hitting the court for Saturday's season opener is a team that features six returners from last season's roster — Chiron Pham, Christian Togiai, Devin Thomas, Jake Matteson, 2025 Cal Pac Conference Freshman of the Year Nick Stone and All-Cal Pac Second Team selection Lawrence Long — and 11 newcomers.

The group of returners was responsible for 41 percent of the team's offense last season.

Among the incoming talent are five freshmen, one sophomore and five junior transfers.
