VALLEJO, Calif. – Prior to Sunday's game vs. Stanton at Bodnar Field, Cal Maritime's women's soccer team honored its two-member senior class, Leeza Bremermann and Amanda Carvalho, in a pregame Senior Day ceremony.
Once action began at Bodnar Field, the Keelhaulers turned in their best defensive performance of the season, one that included highlight-quality saves from Bremermann all game long.
Bremermann ended her afternoon with 22 saves, the second-highest single-game total in program history.
Prior to a Stanton goal scored with less than two minutes before halftime, the Elks were limited to only one goal in the first half but pulled away in the second to depart Vallejo with a 7-0 victory.
The Keelhaulers will have the entire week to prepare for its next game, the first of two against its local rival Pacific Union. Kickoff in Angwin is slated for Sunday, October 12, at 3 p.m.
