VALLEJO, Calif. — If you are a Cal Maritime women's basketball fan,, you have to love what you are witnessing with your team finishing the month with a 5-1 record and gaining momentum entering the final weeks of the season — the exact time of the year head coach Imhotet Amen-Ra wants his team to start peaking with the year-end league playoffs just a few weeks away.

The team's current four-game win streak will increase by one since Westcliff, due to a limited number of healthy players, was forced to forfeit its Cal Pac schedule. Once Saturday at 2 p.m. officially comes and goes, the Keelhaulers will officially earn a 2-0 forfeit win and enter next week's schedule with the longest win streak in program history since the 2015-16 season.

This year's team will match that roster's win streak when it returns to action Monday evening in the first of two 5 p.m. home games, in as many days, against the Navajo Tech Skyhawks — a team based in Crownepoint, New Mexico, that competes in the United State Collegiate Athletic Association, an organization that sponsors intercollegiate programs for small colleges and universities across the nation.

If the Keelhaulers are able to collect another pair of wins during that mini homestand, it will possess the longest win streak in the program's recorded history, dating back to the 2004-05 season.

Aysia Santos, the current Cal Pac Conference Offensive Player of the Week, an award she won three times so far this year, enters the week ranked fifth in scoring at 14.3 points per game among all league players. She is not the only ranked Keelhaulers because her teammate Tamana Sharifi is third in rebounding, averaging 9.8 per game.

However, it is Emily Newton who has made a name for herself since the start of the new year, thanks to her torrid shooting from all over the court, which helped her quickly climb up the league rankings to become the league's top three-point shooter by hitting 35.6 percent of her shots from behind the arc.

Non-conference week will conclude on Valentine's Day for Cal Maritime when it heads to UC Santa Cruz for this season's return game — the Banana Slugs pulled away late to defeat the Keelhaulers in Vallejo earlier this year following three quarters of back-and-forth action — which double as the final non-Cal Pac contest of the 2025-26 season.

Women's basketball's final two games of the regular season will keep it local with a February 19 game at Pacific Union preceding the team's February 21 regular-season finale on Senior Day, at home, against Simpson.
