Santos and Sharifi win second Cal Pac Player of the Week Award of the season

VALLEJO, Calif. – Senior guard Aysia Santos and senior forward Tamana Sharifi earned their second Cal Pac Women's Basketball Player of the Week award, when announced by league officials. As was the case earlier this season, Santos earned Offensive Player of the Week honors with the latter winning Defensive recognition for the second week in a row.

In the Keelhaulers' last game before the Thanksgiving break, Santos scored a team-high 18 points in addition to finishing with four rebounds, two assists and three rebounds.

Entering the month of December, the Chula Vista, California native leads the league and team in total points (109) and ranks sixth with her scoring average of 13.3 points per game.

Sharifi, who hails from Antioch, California, finished that same game against Northwest with 10 points and 11 rebounds — she also recorded three steals and three assists — to post her third double-double of the year.

With her team off until Tuesday, December 9, Sharifi enters the week leading all Cal Pac players in total rebounds (84), defensive rebounds (71) and No. 3 in rebounds per game (10.5).

The Keelhaulers will return to action at Cal State Monterey Bay for a 5:30 p.m. exhibition game.
