Five Keelhaulers complete historic course at the SF State Invite
Final Results
SAN FRANCISCO – Five Keelhaulers headed to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco to compete in the SF State Invite, as part of a deep field on the men's and women's side in one of the most popular, and longest-running, meets in Northern California that predominantly features runners from all NCAA levels.
The women's 6k course and men's 8k routes were the same ones used for the 2009 NCAA Division II West Region Championship.
Competing in her second race of the season, Anjali Sharma clocked a time of 30:46; the Keelhaulers only competed as individuals for this event and will compete as a team, in addition to recording individual times, when it returns to racing at next weekend's Bronco Invite, hosted by Santa Clara.
On the men's side, Michael Lapinski led a contingent of four CSUM runners and completed the 8k course in 30:19.6, crossing the line just over 20 seconds before his teammate, Colby Allen (30:40.7).
Kye McKeown and Caleb Silbernagel were the final two to finish the scenic race course at Speedway Meadow by posting respective times of 33:16.3 and 41:41.7 in Cal Maritime's inaugural appearance at this event.
