Simpson’s Spring Invite kicks-off busy week for the Keelhaulers
VALLEJO, Calif. – Cal Maritime commenced a busy week of action in Redding, site of the Simpson University Spring Invite — one of four events taking place throughout a 10-day block of action for the team.
Led by Allison Bailey, who finished this two-day 36-hole tournament tied for 28th place with a plus-36 the Keelhaulers finished seventh overall.
Once the team returns to campus, a brief three-day break will take place before CSUM takes on Soka in the first of two duals hosted by Blue Rock Springs in Vallejo.
The first competition between the teams is slated for Saturday with the other taking place the following day. Both head-to-head matchups will span 18 holes.
Starting Monday, all Cal Pac men's and women's golf programs will visit Eagle Vines Golf Club in American Canyon for the Cal Pac Showcase. Even though this is not a postseason event, this tournament will determine the league's best men's and women's teams for the 2024-25 season in this Cal Maritime-hosted competition.
This is the first event in program history hosted by Eagle Vines.
The Cal Pac Showcase is the last tune-up for all conference teams before they head to Papago Golf Club in Phoenix, site of the Cal Pac / Frontier Conference Men's and Women's Golf Championship, starting April 14.
With both leagues combining teams to battle for an automatic bid for the NAIA's national playoffs, this 54-hole postseason competition consists of 18 holes played on each of the tournament's three days.
