Three CSUM players finish in double figures vs. Simpson

VALLEJO, Calif. – Dylan Fulton and Aysia Santos led all Keelhaulers with 11 points each, and Tiare Novero-Paaga scored another 10 in Thursday's Cal Pac Conference game at PEAC Main Gym, one that saw the Keelhaulers outscore Simpson by five points in the second half.

Even though the Red Hawks led by five after the first quarters, Cal Maritime did a phenomenal job protecting the ball — it only committed three turnovers in the second quarter — but saw SU hit a string of shots to finish that 10-minute period plus-13 compared to CSUM, and that was the difference in a game the Keelhaulers dropped by a 66-53 result.

Cal Maritime's defense limited Simpson to 33 percent shooting overall, but in that second quarter, it shot 47 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three.

An opportunity to quickly move past this game will take place because CSUM will return to action on Saturday, at 2 p.m., in a road game against UC Merced – the final Cal Pac road trip of the year.
