Keelhaulers kick-off 2026 slate at the Rose Bowl Regatta

VALLEJO, Calif. – Cal Maritime's sailing program will start the new year in Southern California when it heads to the U.S. Sailing Center in Long Beach, California, to compete in its inaugural regatta of 2026, the Rose Bowl Regatta.
In addition to this weekend-long regatta featuring 24 teams from across the nation, regatta officials will host a College Sailing Forum for high school student-athletes to learn about college sailing since USC is hosting a high school regatta in addition to a college fleet event.
Representing Cal Maritime, one of the top keelboat and dinghy sailing programs in the country on the water throughout the weekend and Saturday night's information session are junior Nick Mueller, freshmen Indigo Craig, Chloe Hedge, Kaden Miller, Tate Oyler, head coach Kerry Deaver and assistant sailing coach Renee Corpuz-Lahne.
The high school and college fleets will compete in Long Beach Harbor, approximately one mile south of Belmont Memorial Pier.
Two boats, an 'A' and 'B' will represent each college team with the lowest combined score winning this annual regatta with all participants sailing CFJ's throughout the weekend.

While the rest of the semester's schedule is TBD, what is known is the Keelhaulers' participation at the 18th-annual Port of Los Angeles Harbor Cup, one of college sailing's premier events, tri-hosted by Cal Maritime Sailing, the Port of Los Angeles and Los Angeles Yacht Club.
This big boat competition will feature Cal Maritime, an eight-time winner of this big boat event, and nine other teams that will make the trek to San Pedro, California, for this 10-race event from March 6-8.
