VALLEJO, Calif. –
For the second time in as many years, Nick Mueller will represent Cal Maritime at the National Singlehanded Open Championship, hosted by Old Dominion University at its Sailing Center this weekend in Norfolk, Virginia.

Mueller is one of 18 invitees from across the nation who will compete for the Glen S. Foster Trophy, presented to the winner of this event.

Also competing at this weekend's national championship are Erik Anderson (Hawai'i), Hamilton Barclay (Tulane), Peter Barnard (Georgetown), Guthrie Braun (Brown), Tate Christopher (Tulane), Alejo Di Blasi (Tulane), Benjamin Dufour (College of Charleston), Matheo Graham-Capasso (Tulane), Jake Homberger (Boston College), Thomas Kraak (College of Charleston), Owen Kohut (Georgetown), Connor McHugh (Roger Williams), Robby Meek (Harvard), Lucas Nykamp (Hope College), Mathias Reimer (Yale), Will Rucker (College of Charleston) and Thomas Sitzmann (Stanford).

Mueller earned an automatic entry to this national championship by winning last month's Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference Singlehanded Championship.

Other competitors earned their berth by winning respective conference singlehanded championships or through an at-large bid.
