Strong Saturday leads to sixth place at the PCCSC South Delegate

Results

VALLEJO, Calif. –
Three top three-finishes during Saturday's racing at the US Sailing Center in Long Beach, California out of the eight combined races that day led to Cal Maritime finishing sixth overall at the PCCSC South Delegate, hosted by USC.

Including those three Saturday results, the Keelhaulers finished within the top five in six races that afternoon to enter the second day of competition in sixth overall out of the 17-team field.

Saturday's performance carried over to Sunday morning when CSUM's A boat began the final day of racing by notching a second-place finish. That was the first of two top-three race results, out of the 12 races that took place throughout the day, as the Keelhaulers ended up maintaining its original position on the leaderboard when the weekend ended.

Cal Maritime is off the next couple weeks and will return to racing on April 12 when it visits Newport Beach, California, for the two-day Anteater Open, hosted by UC Irvine.

Dingy sailors will split their time that weekend because CSUM will send another contingent to Redwood City for the PCCSC Team Race Championship, also taking place on April 12 and 13.
