Four Keelhaulers earn Scholar-Athlete accolades

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Four members from Cal Maritime's men's and women's golf teams earned Daktronics Scholar-Athlete distinction when the NAIA announced its end-of-season honor roll. Earning this award for the 2023-24 academic year were women's golf student-athletes Raven and Safari Frisell, men's golf student-athletes Jake Banich and James McNally.

Selections need to hold a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average, appear on an institution's eligibility certificate for the sport and spend one full year at that university.

This is the fourth time in as many years that Banich received the Scholar-Athlete award; this is the first time McNally and both Frisell sisters earned this recognition.
